In this paper, the causes of the blockage of high pressure methane line cold box system at the outlet of methane refrigeration compressor in the 220 kt/a ethylene plant of PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company are analyzed, a flushing scheme is developed, and the quality control during system replacement and cleaning after the flushing is summarized. This flushing scheme solved the problem of cold box blocking.
