Discussion on the Method for Determining Design Parameters of Steam Curtains in Ethylene Plants

摘要:

乙烯装置通过设置蒸汽幕可以避免泄漏的可燃物被裂解炉引燃后发生火灾、爆炸事故,但目前的文献中未提供蒸汽幕设计参数的确定方法。通过研究喷孔产生的蒸汽射流对可燃气云的卷吸和稀释作用,提出了根据可燃物泄漏和扩散场景确定和调整蒸汽幕设计参数的方法。研究结果表明,文中提出的方法建立了泄漏和扩散场景与设计参数之间的联系,有助于获得满足泄漏和扩散场景稀释性能要求的设计参数。

Abstract:

Steam curtains are used for avoiding fire and explosion accidents in ethylene plants resulting from the ignitions of the released flammables by steam cracking furnaces. Currently, there are few references related to the methods for determing the design parameters of steam curtains. In this paper, the method for determining and adjusting the design parameters based on the release and dispersion scenarios of the flammables is put forward by studying the air entrainment and dilution effects of the steam jet from a steam curtain nozzle on the flammable cloud. It is shown that the method proposed by this paper connects the design paramaters of steam curtains with the selected release and dispersion scenarios, and it is conducive to proposing design paramters meeting the dilution performance required by the selected scenarios.
